Crisa Valadez is an artist, writer, and curator based in San Antonio, TX. She currently works for the City of San Antonio Arts & Culture Department and is extremely passionate about art and nonprofit work, having worked and volunteered with several local organizations such as the Texas Public Radio, the McNay Art Museum, Centro San Antonio, Gemini Ink, and more from a young age.

Juan de Dios Mora was born in Yahualica, Mexico. In 1998, his family immigrated to the United States. In 2009, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Painting and a Master of Fine Arts specializing in Printmaking in 2011. Lisa is a visual artist and designer from Houston, Texas. In 2019, she completed her master’s in design studies from Centro de Diseño, Cine y Televisión. Lisa Saldivar featured their artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on December 9th, 10th, 16th, and 17th, 2023.

Mauro Murillo was born in Coahuila, Mexico and moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1995. During high school, he enjoyed the SAY Sí art program where he explored creating art in different mediums including graphite, charcoal, aluminum, paper mâché, papel picado, and others. Esteban Miguel Guerra is a Mexican American painter who lives and works in Austin, TX. Born in San Antonio in 1975, Esteban discovered art at an early age and painted and drew frequently, later studying independently the work of famous painters. My name is Bianca Olivares, and I am a Graphic Designer and Illustrator based in Austin, Texas. I grew up in Austin, Texas, surrounded by many different expressions of art. I took my first printmaking class during my freshman year of high school and it has grown into full passion. Alejandra Gonzalez Zertuche (b. 1997 in Coahuila, Mx.) immigrated to Texas and has since recited in central Texas, until 2022 when she relocated to the East Coast. Most commonly known by his artist name, Toto, Jorge Flores-Pere was born in Los Angeles, California in 1995, but is now located in Houston, Texas. His first experience as an artist was as a curator in 2016. Jorge Flores-Pere featured their artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on March 18-19 and March 25-26, 2023.

I’m a Graphic Designer and Artist, born in the USA and raised in Mexico. An art lover and graduate of La Salle University in Mexico City. Sara Palma featured their artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on February 18-19 and February 25-26, 2023.

Mauro de la Tierra is a first generation Mexican American from San Antonio; a self-taught painter, sculptor, and illustrator. What began with street art transitioned into canvas and beyond. Karla García, Originally from the border of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico and El Paso, Texas, now resides in Dallas, Texas. She has an MFA in Ceramics and certification in Museum Education from the University of North Texas (UNT) in Denton.

Sandra de la Rosa is an artist born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and raised in Houston, Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Houston in 2015 and her Masters of Fine Arts in 2019 at the University of Florida. Jason Valdez was born and raised in McAllen, TX. The son of a diesel mechanic and a classical singer, he grew up around a unique mix of both artistic and industrial influences. Jason Valdez featured her artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on February 19-20, 2022.

El Paso, TX native, Jennifer Battaglia, is a Mexican/Italian American conceptual artist currently residing in Houston. She received her BA in Media Production from the University of Houston where she concentrated on photography, video, and graphic design. Jennifer Battaglia featured her artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on December 6th and 30th, 2020.

Luis Coss was born on October 22, 1985 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, a border town with Laredo, TX. After living in Nuevo Laredo for most of his life, Coss moved to San Antonio, where the beginning of his artistic career began. Luis Coss featured his artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on Novemberr 10th and 18th, 2020.

Cat Barrera is a 27 year Digital Pop Surrealist born in the Texas Hill Country. Daughter of Mexican immigrants, her travels between the US and Mexico have greatly influenced her spiritual beliefs by combining Catholicism with the occult and it’s influenced her vibrant color palette. Cat Barrera featured her artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on August 4th and 31st, 2020.

Paul Valadez grew up in Stockton, CA and attended San Joaquin Delta College prior to attending the San Francisco Art Institute where he earned his BFA in Interdisciplinary Art in 1997. Paul Valadez featured his artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on June 23th and July 13th, 2020.

Manny Chapa creates paintings that speak on the beauty that exists within his Mexican heritage. His process includes observing the subject and translating it onto his canvas with detailed brushstrokes that tell a story. Luis Angulo featured his artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on May 18th and 31st, 2020.

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Luis Angulo and his family emigrated to the US thirteen years ago. Not knowing a word in english, it was hard adjusting in the beginning. Luis Angulo featured her artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on April 27th and May 5th, 2020.

Currently based in Austin, Texas, Savannah Diaz is a visual artist whose works center on themes of her childhood and maternal energies. Born and raised in a largely Latinx community in Miami, Florida, her work is informed by and focused on revisiting memories of growing up in a Cuban-American household. Nikki Diaz was born and raised in El Paso, TX where she graduated with a B.F.A. in Painting from the University of Texas at El Paso. Nikki Diaz featured her artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on February 1st, 2nd, 8th, and 9th, 2020.

Corinne Whittemore is an artist, single mother, graphic designer and educator. Ulysses Cueto was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He’s influenced by everyday materials and colors that remind him of home and day-to-day life. Ulysses Cueto featured his artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on March 11th, 2019.

Stephanie Sandoval’s work expresses her identity as a third-generation Mexican American and a young woman inspired by radical Latinas. In conjunction with the East Austin Studio Tour, Stephanie Sandoval was on hand on November 10th, 11th, 17th, and 18th, 2018 as part of the Changarrito Artist in Residency Program.

Born in Santa Barbara, California, Evelyn Contreras received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking at California State University, Long Beach and her Master of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. Nepantla is an Austin based artist collective. The name means the space in between, representing a fluidity of culture and identity and place, as well as a conflict within the different spaces. Harry Chávez, born in Lima, graduated from the Catholic University of Pontificia in Perú. He studied Korean art and culture at Dankook University in South Korea. Ruben Dario Villa is a graphic designer as well as founder of Fúchila Fresheners. His mission is to seek, spread and represent the Chicano and Latino cultura with pride by providing an inviting and unique way to consume art on a daily basis. A strong advocate for youth empowerment and the power of positive reinforcement, Jake grew up being told he didn’t matter. As a youth, he was placed in special education classes due to undiagnosed dyslexia. Jake Prendez featured his artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on October 14-15, 2017.

José Villalobos grew up on the US/Mexico border in El Paso, TX. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He was awarded the Artist Lab Fellowship Grant for his work De La Misma Piel at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center. Francisco Godoy (b. 1979) is an artist and pediatrician, originally from Guatemala. His current body of work is inspired by his medical knowledge, as he explores the shape of the human heart. Francisco Godoy featured his artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on May 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st, 2017.

Joseph Silvas (b. 1992 in El Paso, TX) was born into a military family and lived in Oklahoma, Germany, Killeen, and Fort Hood, all before settling down in his parents’ hometown of San Antonio. Joseph Silvas featured his artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on March 16th, 18th, and 19th, 2017.

Mark Puente (1977, Boston, Massachusetts) draws inspiration from folk art, growing up in Guatemala, and the art and imagery of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Mark Puente featured his artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on February 10th and 18th, 2017.

Samuel Velasquez is a San Antonio native surrealist that obtained his BFA at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is currently a painting instructor at Southwest School of Art in San Antonio, Texas. Samuel Velasquez featured his artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on December 3-4 & 10-11, 2016.

Claudia Zapata founded Mapache Bear Press in 2015 to serve as a dedicatory outlet for POC (people of color) and queer artists’ creations. Zapata featured their artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on October 1-2, 2016.

Zamora was born in Austin and raised in the small town of Tivoli, Texas. She graduated top of her class, receiving numerous scholarships which helped fuel her dream of being an Educator and an Artist. Raquel Zawrotny is a native San Antonio surrealist artist who recently relocated right outside of Austin, Texas. She obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Texas at San Antonio and is an Art Instructor at the Southwest School of Arts in San Antonio. Josué Ramírez (Rawmirez) is a border artist living and practicing in the Rio Grande Valley. Josué participated in Changarrito February 20th and 21st as well as February 27th and 28th. Originally from Ciudad Mante Tamaulipas, Mexico, Rawmirez migrated to the US alongside his family as a child. Alejandra Almuelle was born in Arequipa, Peru. She is a self-taught ceramic artist working in this medium for the past 24 years. Alejandra Almuelle featured her artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on January 24th, 2016.

Andrew Anderson was born in Mexico City from an American father and a Panamanian mother. After a brief stay in Puerto Rico and San Antonio, he began his adolescences on the west side of Houston. Andrew Anderson featured his artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on November 1-2 & 14-15, 2014.

Natalia Rodriguez is a Chicago born, Texas raised artist with a penchant for black and white illustration. Natalia graduated from St. Edward’s University with a BFA in Studio Art. Natalia Rodriguez featured her artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on June 3-4 & 10-11, 2015.

Faustinus Deraet (b. Antwerp, Belgium) is an Austin based photographer, who grew up in Mexico City. He obtained a Bachelor’s in Computer Systems from the Universidad Iberoamericana; and, after working for seven years at IBM, he decided to pursue his passion for photography. Faustinus Deraet featured his artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on September 19-20 & 26-27, 2015.

Sixto-Juan Zavala was born and raised in south Texas. He is an art director, designer, and illustrator, who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design from Texas State University (2010). Daniel Cobos was raised in the Rio Grande Valley and studied Fine Arts at the University of Texas-Pan America (B.F.A. 2009). Daniel Cobos featured his artwork on the Changarrito cart outside the Museum’s entrance on June 14, 2015.

He is an Austin based graphic designer, screen printer, and local business owner (Ramona Press). Originally from Miami, Indiana, Tony has a BFA from Indiana Wesleyan University, with focuses in graphic design and printmaking. John Medina was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, the hometown of Whataburger and Selena. He received his BFA from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and his MFA from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois.
