Changarrito Residency: Marcela Homrich

 class=

May 1st – 31st, 2026

Marcela was born in the south of Brazil in a city called Porto Alegre, close to the border with Argentina, and has German and Native Brazilian heritage. Her background is in graphic design, but her practice at the studio right now is more art-focused. She still enjoys designing products, but over the last 5 years, she has felt more drawn to making art. It gives her more creative freedom, and it feels closer to what she wants to express now. Her focus is on textile arts, but she still likes to explore other materials like paper and clay.
