About the Artist

Natalie Villarreal multi media practice includes painting, drawing, and sculpture, while taking inspiration from the writers and artists of the 19th century. In the fast-paced world of the 21st century, Villarreal believes that a sense of beauty, once so important, has been neglected. She works to bring a sensibility towards beauty into her work through the painting of intimate objects. Villarreal graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from the University of Texas at Austin, and she currently lives and works as an artist and marketing specialist in Austin, Texas.

Artists have the opportunity to sell their art on the Changarrito cart in front of the Museum (or an offsite location, as representative for the Museum during various Austin festivals). Changarreando expands the reach of the artist by presenting their gallery online, while allowing the option to sell merch over Instagram and receive 100% of the sale.

Natalie Villarreal featured her artwork on the Changarrito cart right outside the Museum’s entrance on September 20-21 & 27-28, 2014.
