Mexic-Arte Museum accomplished major milestones in the past decade!  Time flies!  This July we will begin our 37th year of presenting programs for the Austin and Central Texas Community. 

We are so grateful to you, our supporters who inspired and made these accomplishments and successes possible. Mexic-Arte Museum relies on donations from the community in order to provide high quality exhibitions, vibrant cultural events, and valuable community education services. 

Mexic-Arte Museum and community partners celebrated Día de los Muertos with the 36th annual Viva la Vida Festival and Parade presented by the Austin Convention Center, on October 26th. 

Mexic-Arte Museum is thrilled to announce its 36th annual Viva La Vida Festival and Parade will take place on October 26, 2019 in downtown Austin! Viva La Vida is Austin’s largest and longest-running Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival, and one of the most artistic and creative in the country.

We invite friends and supporters to join Mexic-Arte Museum to the 2019 Catrina Gala Dinner on October 20, 2019, at Fonda San Miguel. This event raises funds for the FY 2019-20 exhibition season and education programs. 

The Mexic-Arte Museum is grieving the loss of lives from the recent tragedy in El Paso, Texas. We would like to convey our deepest sympathy with the community of El Paso, the Latinx/a/o community across the country and the families of loved ones in Mexico. 

On June 6, 2019 the Consulate General of Mexico in Austin inaugurated the permanent collection of photographs, Mexican and Mexican Americans in Austin. 

The twentieth fourth edition of the Young Latinx Artists Exhibition explores the theme of BUEN VIVIR/VIVIR BIEN, presenting artists interested in decolonizing Western worldviews by tackling issues such as climate change, the legacies of colonization, immigration, and racism.
