Mexic-Arte would like to thank everyone who attended and helped in our annual Viva la Vida Festival and Parade in Downtown Austin. Viva la Vida was co-sponsored by the City of Austin and presented by Austin Convention Center. See you again in 2023 for our 40th year!


October 2022

Mexic-Arte Museum is thrilled to announce the in-person 39th Annual Viva La Vida Festival and Parade that will take place on October 29, 2022 in downtown Austin! Viva La Vida is Austin’s largest and longest running Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival, and one of the most artistic and creative in the country.


September 2022

Mexic-Arte Museum is honored to be the new home of the murals, The Origins of Medicine, by the artist Rafael Navarro Barajas. These murals have been part of the Austin community for over fifty-five years. We celebrated the murals with enthusiastic friends and community members at the opening reception on September 16th.


May 2022

Mexic-Arte Museum inaugurated with tremendous pride and joy, Chicano/a Art, Movimiento y Mas en Austen, Tejas 1960s to 1980s with over five hundred guests viewing the exhibit throughout the evening.  It was a reunion of artists, activists, professors, musicians, poets, cultural workers, lowriders, La Raza, La Comunidad y mas!
