Since 1998, Mexic-Arte Museum’s Taste of Mexico has become one of the leading Mexican-inspired culinary events of the year. This culturally conscious and historical celebration of Cinco de Mayo invites guests to generously sample creative cuisines from over 50 of Austin’s most eclectic and exciting restaurants, food trucks, and beverage purveyors. Alongside fine tequilas and mezcales, Taste of Mexico offers regional specialties and contemporary fusions to trace the lineages of a cuisine that boasts continental flavor and international flare. This year’s Taste of Mexico will highlight French influence in Mexican foodscapes. From mother sauces and moles, to pastries and pan dulce, guests are invited to celebrate the cross-pollination of French and Mexican cuisine, as well as indulge in our desserts lounge featuring rich chocolates, sweet treats and after-dinner beverages. Taste of Mexico benefits Mexic-Arte Museum’s art education programs.

About Mexic-Arte Museum

Mexic-Arte Museum is dedicated to cultural enrichment and education through the collection, preservation and presentation of traditional and contemporary Mexican, Latino, and Latin American art and culture to promote dialogue and develop understanding for visitors of all ages. Since 1984, the Museum has produced and presented exceptional cultural programming and nationally recognized educational programs for communities in Texas. Mexic-Arte Museum is one of the first museums in the United States to present Mexican and Mexican American art. Recognizing the Museum’s uniqueness and significant cultural role, on 2003, the 78th Legislature of the State of Texas designated Mexic-Arte Museum as the “Official Mexican and Mexican American Art Museum of Texas.”
