The Cinco de Mayo Luncheon on April 25th at the beautiful Thompson Hotel gathered downtown businesses and stakeholders to celebrate, promote, and learn about the Mexic-Arte Museum, the Cinco de Mayo historic event, and the 5th Street Mexican American Heritage Corridor.

On January 26, 2024, Mexic-Arte Museum welcomed the first group of interns of the Latino Museum Internship Expansion Project.

We end the year with great news!  On Thursday, Dec. 14^th, the City Council authorized 5th Street Mexican American Heritage Corridor outreach project.

We thank you, our friends, and supporters who inspired us in 2023. The community’s invaluable support makes possible informative exhibitions, vibrant cultural events, and artistic education programs.

Mexic-Arte would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended and helped out at the annual Viva la Vida Festival and Parade in downtown Austin. The city’s largest and longest-running Day of the Dead event was held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 12-6 pm.

On Sept. 22, 2023, Mexic-Arte will open 40 Years of Día de los Muertos – Tradition, Celebration & Continuation. Even before we founded the Museum, Pio Pulido and I were guided by our love for and interest in Mexican traditions.
