DESCRIPTION:About the Artist\n\n\n\nSmittenKittenTx is based in San Antonio TX and self-taught. \n\n\n\nSKTX has been an evolving project that started focused in doll making\, then progressed with digital art and illustration\, 3D sculpting\, and relief printing with linoleum and wood specifically. \n\n\n\nWorks are heavily inspired by growing up by the US / Mexico border\, socio-economic issues\, environmental issues\, animal rights\,and veganism. \n\n\n\nThe work of SKTX has been featured in multiple galleries and projects all over the U.S. including AO5 Gallery\, Blk Wht Gry Gallery\,Munzon Gallery\, Guzu Gallery\,Time Before Death\, Red Truck Gallery\, Oso Bay Print Festival\, Mercury Project\, and Zine Mercado. \n\n\n\nArtist Statement\n\n\n\n“My work is very culturally significant with current adaptations\, as an artist I hope to create a bridge between the past and the present to inspire a brighter future.” \n\n\n\n\nLook at Tressa’s work\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChangarrito Cart – October 18 & 19 and October 25\n\n\n\nArtists have the opportunity to sell their art on the Changarrito cart in front of the Museum (or an offsite location\, as representative for the Museum during various Austin festivals). Changarreando expands the reach of the artist by presenting their gallery online\, while allowing the option to sell merch over Instagram and receive 100% of the sale. \n\n\n\n[Blank] will be at the Mexic-Arte Museum featuring her artwork on the Changarrito cart right outside the Museum’s entrance on October 18 & 19 and October 25 from 12 – 3 PM. \n\n\n\nFollow us on Instagram and Facebook for updates on original work available for purchase and behind the scenes of the artist’s work\, space\, and creative process. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChangarrito Instagram Live Interview – October 30 at 5 PM\n\n\n\nYou’re invited to Mexic-Arte Museum’s Changarrito Instagram Live event with artist Tressa Gonzales\, taking place virtually through the Museum’s Instagram account @mexic_arte! Luisa Fernanda Perez\, Mexic-Arte Museum’s Curator of Exhibitions and Director Of Programs\, will facilitate the virtual event with a series of questions directed at the artist including a Q&A taking place during the last 20 minutes of the event.
