SUMMARY:Changarrito Residency: Bianca
DESCRIPTION:About the Artist\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“My name is Bianca Olivares\, and I am a Graphic Designer and Illustrator based in Austin\, Texas. I was born and raised in Austin\, I’d be so rich if I got a penny every time I’ve been compared to a unicorn. I’ve been on a journey for the last few years to learn more about my heritage. Because of this\, it has become important for me to include my culture in my passion projects. When I am not learning and producing graphic work\, I like to learn about the tattoo industry. It has been a dream of mine to become a tattoo artist since middle school. I am almost there!” \n\n\n\n\nLook at Bianca’s Work \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChangarrito Cart – TBD\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtists have the opportunity to sell their art on the Changarrito cart in front of the Museum (or an offsite location\, as representative for the Museum during various Austin festivals). SUMMARY:Changarrito Residency: Esteban
DESCRIPTION:Esteban Miguel Guerra outside Mexic-Arte with the changarrito cart \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Agave Harvest\, 14″x18″\, Oil on canvas\, 2022 \n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Artist\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEsteban Miguel Guerra is a Mexican American painter who lives and works in Austin\, TX. Born in San Antonio in 1975\, Esteban discovered art at an early age and painted and drew frequently\, later studying independently the work of famous painters. Esteban went on to earn a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from Saint Mary’s University School of Law while continuing to draw and paint. During this time\, Esteban received art instruction at the Southwest School of Art in San Antonio and the Contemporary Austin – Art School in Austin\, TX. After working in finance\, Esteban decided to pursue art full time. He is currently enrolled at ACC in Austin\, TX studying studio art and plans to transfer to a BFA in studio art program in Fall 2023. \n\n\n\nArtist’s Statement\n\n\n\nMy name is Esteban Miguel Guerra and I am a Mexican American painter living and working in Austin\, TX. I draw inspiration for my work from the world around me\, the various forms both natural and man made which I try to imbue with anima. My earlier work evokes a sense of traditional Japanese prints. The paintings are filled with flattened forms: birds\, flowers\, and figures rendered in saturated colors\, bound by simple lines. My depictions of the human form strive for a sense of meditation or peaceful contemplation in the subject. The art itself is psychological\, a struggle to capture a feeling of peace in paint. On a technical level\, my work is evolving in its awareness and treatment of light and shadow. Colors are creeping into the darkness and the forms that populate the space are becoming more sculptural.    \n\n\n\n\nLook at Esteban’s Work \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChangarrito Cart – TBD\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArtists have the opportunity to sell their art on the Changarrito cart in front of the Museum (or an offsite location\, as representative for the Museum during various Austin festivals).
