An exhibition displaying various forms of printmaking\, including a print portfolio Tejanos: The Border Crossed Us\, prints from the Mexico City-based workshop Taller 75 Grados\, and more. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFeatured Artists\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n The exhibit will include a print portfolios Tejanos: The Border Crossed Us\, the Consejo Grafico Nacional’s portfolio Creando Fuerza: Cambio y Permanencia; also on display will be prints from various groups such as the Mexico City-based workshop Taller 75 Grados\, prints from the Mercadorama collective\, works from Associación de Grabadores\, others; and\, works collected at various fairs including BinFest by PrintAustin\, Flatstock from SXSW\, and more.

DESCRIPTION:About \n\n\n\nTotally Cool\, Totally Art (TCTA) is a city program which offers community-based arts education for Austin teens in grades 7 to 12. Mexic-Arte Museum’s ongoing partnership with the City of Austin provides a formal gallery space for the display of artwork created by teens in TCTA after-school workshops. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition runs until March 1\, 2020. Please note that this is not an opening reception\, but it is the day when the exhibition opens to the public.

DESCRIPTION:Help Make Viva la Vida Parade and Festival 2020 the Best Ever!\n\n\n\n\nDonate!\n\n\n\n\nJoin us on Thursday March 5th and Friday March 6th  from 11:00am to 1:00pm to make your Amplify donation. Proceeds from this year’s Amplify campaign will benefit Viva La Vida –  Texas’ largest and longest-running Day of the Dead festival and parade! The Mexic-Arte team will be stationed outside the Museum to take donations\, and inside the gallery to help you with a fun art project where you can design your own “Lo-Teca Azteca”\, a dancing skeleton with decorations influenced by indigenous Aztec dress.  \n\n\n\nInspired by the Día de los Muertos parade in Mexico City\, Mexic-Arte Museum’s Viva la Vida fest celebrates life in the Austin community\, enhancing our collective pride. Your contributions to the Museum during Amplify Austin Day will help us meet our fundraising goal of $5\,000\, which will contribute to these events: \n\n\n\nDía de los Muertos ExhibitionViva la Vida FestivalViva la Vida ParadeFree Family Day Artist in Residency\n\n\n\nA $10 donation gives you access to the Museum’s galleries- now featuring the Unseen Prints Collection and this year’s Totally Cool\, Totally Art exhibits (both closing on March 10th).A $20 donation gives you access to the Museum’s galleries\, plus the “Build your own Lo-Teca Azteca” art activity put on by the Museum’s Education team.Can’t make it out Thursday or Friday?
