An exhibition displaying various forms of printmaking\, including a print portfolio Tejanos: The Border Crossed Us\, prints from the Mexico City-based workshop Taller 75 Grados\, and more. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFeatured Artists\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n The exhibit will include a print portfolios Tejanos: The Border Crossed Us\, the Consejo Grafico Nacional’s portfolio Creando Fuerza: Cambio y Permanencia; also on display will be prints from various groups such as the Mexico City-based workshop Taller 75 Grados\, prints from the Mercadorama collective\, works from Associación de Grabadores\, others; and\, works collected at various fairs including BinFest by PrintAustin\, Flatstock from SXSW\, and more.

DESCRIPTION:About \n\n\n\nTotally Cool\, Totally Art (TCTA) is a city program which offers community-based arts education for Austin teens in grades 7 to 12. Mexic-Arte Museum’s ongoing partnership with the City of Austin provides a formal gallery space for the display of artwork created by teens in TCTA after-school workshops. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition runs until March 1\, 2020. Please note that this is not an opening reception\, but it is the day when the exhibition opens to the public.

SUMMARY:Media Mixer: Unseen Prints & Screenprinting
DESCRIPTION:Mexic-Arte Museum will host the LAST Media Mixer for the Unseen Prints from the Mexic-Arte Museum Collection Exhibit. Come print your very own design on a tote bag using the block printing method. We will be demo-ing new screen print designs\, so feel free to BYOStuff (bring your own teeshirt\, tote bag\, bandana etc.) to print on! \n\n\n\nMedia Mixers are open to the public with the price of admission\, and are always free for members. Admission includes all materials for the workshop\, as well as refreshments. Guests take home their projects at the end of the event. \n\n\n\nAbout the program: Mexic-Arte Museum’s Media Mixer workshops\, are a series of informal adult art-making and discussion classes for all levels on the last Tuesday of every other month. Artists are invited by the museum to create a workshop or lecture around current exhibit works and themes. Media Mixers are a unique opportunity for members of the community to get up close and personal with professional artists and their work as well as learn about art making techniques.
